By the Eastside, for the Eastside
“Maybe an irrelevant throwback but I think since student council/miss Gillespie class in middle school. You were [young] but so kind to everyone and had great leadership. I think it’s amazing how you continued that plight into the activism you do today, it’s still inspiring. I love to see it!”

Yes, we worked together through Avanzamos!, and slightly through the Latinx institute (which i was wondering if you knew anything about? I’d love to join this year even though I have no org to be part of. I was wondering if maybe I could do the photography/ videography for some of the events). Working together was great. When it was with my work, I felt like the depth and nuance of my was respected and you were instrumental in making sure it was accessible to both English and Spanish speakers which meant a lot to me.

In the events that I have worked with Jas on, she has shown a dedication to achieving results. Jas is thorough and research-driven in her approach, with a clear lens for inclusion, equity, and diversity. She is community-based and justice-oriented, which allowed for the events we worked on to be successes. Jas works independently and collaboratively, and carries herself with an attitude of continuous growth.

I attended the Solidarity Fridge and the Fifth Sun MMIW walk [this year, 2024] I remember you from both of those and was/ continue to be inspired in humanity by those with your heart and passion. I brought my daughter to the period pantry unveiling – it was so unbelievably helpful in navigating what is considered uncomfortable conversations spoken about so naturally and with pride for femininity. We’ve continued conversations in the same nature because of this. For MMIW- my mother was murdered (unsolved) when I was 7, and as a white woman, I stay in the background to support and try simply to hold space for a community I hold so much respect for. Wishing the world was a different place is easier to believe in the possibility- when surrounded by good people. Grateful for you and the community we share.
